I mean I haven’t signed anything legally so I could probably still change, but now I really have to think about this. Congrats to everyone else who got in.

No I got an email.

Dear ------:

I am delighted to inform you that you have been accepted

for admission to The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical
Education at The City College of New York. As a member of
the thirty-seventh entering class, you will play an
important role in the future of medical care. Your
acceptance offers you an exciting learning opportunity
during which you will have exposure to the vistas opened
through the liberal arts, as well as building a firm
foundation with the basic medical and socio-medical
sciences requisite in the training of effective,
compassionate, empathic physicians. You will be able to
learn with and from other talented students who share many
of your goals in a rigorous, yet supportive environment.
Upon successful completion of the five-year program you
will transfer almost seamlessly to one of our six
cooperating medical schools where in two more years, you
will earn your M.D. Degree.

We would like to invite you and your family to a

reception at The City College on Saturday, April 18, 2009,
at 12:30 P.M. in the Faculty Dining Room, on the third
level of the North Academic Center (NAC) Building. Often
viewed as a celebration, this reception can be useful to
further learn about the school and to answer any final
questions you may have prior to making a decision
regarding this offer of admission. Parking can generally
be found on Convent Avenue and surrounding streets. You
will have an opportunity to meet informally with members
of the faculty, the administration, and student body. The
Dean will speak at the reception and refreshments will be
served. Please call the Office of Admissions at 212
-650-7712 to confirm that you will be attending the
reception.

Sometimes students wish to revisit the school to meet

other students and attend a lecture in order to help in
their decision-making process. You may make arrangements
for such a visit by contacting Dr. Dani McBeth, Associate
Dean for Student Affairs, at dmcbeth@med.cuny.edu .

Should you decide to accept this offer of admission, you

must sign the enclosed service commitment, have it
notarized and return it to the Office of Admissions by May
1, 2009. Shortly after receipt of your service
commitment, you will receive further detailed instructions
about submission of immunization forms, course
registration, new student orientation and other
information. Finally, you will be required to sign The
Student Honor Code, a document written and endorsed by the
Sophie Davis student body.

If you wish to decline this offer of admission, call the

Office of Admissions at 212-650-8257 as soon as possible
so that an alternate can be notified.

You have our warmest congratulations and we look forward

to seeing you as you begin your career in medicine.
Sincerely,

Christopher Wanyonyi
