Sophomore Course Load

Hello,

I’m a freshman in high school at the moment and currently deciding my schedule for next year. My schedule for this year is as follows:

  • English 9th H
  • Government and Economics H
  • Introduction to Engineering and Design H
  • Algebra II H
  • Orchestra H
  • Spanish III H
  • Biology H
  • PE/Health

As per teacher recommendations and personal choices, I plan to take the following courses next year:

  • Chemistry H (required)
  • Spanish IV H
  • Precalculus H (required)
  • Orchestra H
  • AP Biology
  • Global Issues H
  • PE/Health

Does this schedule seem rigorous/manageable enough? With this schedule, I wouldn’t have any free periods.

Also, Global Issues is an Honors class offered at my school that combines English and Social Studies into one class (and fulfills both credit requirements), with frequent papers, essays, etc. revolving around the study of the world. However, instead of Global Issues, I have the option of taking the following two courses:

  • AP World History
  • World Literature H

I was wondering whether I should take Global Issues or AP World and World Literature. Does the designation of “AP” on a transcript matter at all? Both topics interest me, but it seems like AP World would be the better choice (in my opinion) due to its status as an AP course.

Thanks in advance.

Looks solid to me

Are you planning on taking 2 or 3 years of Spanish?

Estoy tomando Spanish IV como estudiante de segundo año y el ritmo es ridículo.
Pero recuerda siempre, por fin, google translate es tu amigo

It took me a while to find this resource, but trust me, it’ll save you lots of time and headache

Isn’t English mandatory? Why Biology two years in a row since chemistry is mandatory?

Never mind about the English. Didnt read it the first time

Why take two lab sciences at once?
I would take one and then perhaps do AP lang and AP USH
