^^^i plan to greatly improve those scores this coming year. I did not study for the sat.
That is what I have so far. My school doesn’t offer AP freshman/sophomore year so that’s why I don’t have as much rigor in those years.
aim for an SAT of 2300+, and take 2-3 SAT IIs (and aim for at least 700+, preferably 750+). For Stanford, you should really try to have all As/A+s, but you aren’t that far off so don’t count yourself out. Try to finish the year off strong! Try to find a meaningful thing to do this summer, it could be improving your volunteering activity, but try also to find a selective program(one you don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for, those are scams). Just make sure it is something you LOVE. Maybe try out for all-county/all-state band with your instrument. Make sure you try to have a few hundred hours in ONE-TWO volunteer activities (don’t dabble in your volunteer work). Try to get a leadership position in Beta club. MY point is that your EC’s need to be deep and show that you have commitment for them. You are up against student body presidents, Intel finalists, published authors, and Olympians, so make sure you EXCEL at your EC’s (and have fun with them!)
You have quite a bit room for improvement right now, as do I, but you still have a year and a half, so keep doing you, and try to get those SAT scores and leadership positions!

Chance back?
GPA seems good, but please please study hard for the SAT (I’m talking 2200+). Do you plan on taking the new one or the old one? Please also work to expand your EC list.
Also, what’s the point of taking AP Calculus AB and BC at the same time? Just take BC, and you will get what is called an AB sub-score after you take the AP exam.
Calc BC is essentially all of Calc AB but with more information in the curriculum. Therefore, its also faster paced. That being said, your AB subscore is determined by how well you do on the parts of the exam that test info that is in Calc AB.
.
If you are planning to take the old SAT (current SAT) I suggest that you begin studying ASAP. The new one will first be administered in January 2016.
Thanks for all the help. This summer I plan to volunteer at local places and work as well. I have no idea yet when I plan to take the SAT, most likely December. Then another in May.
And to FutureDoc, our school does not let us take BC unless you’ve completed AB. I plan to take AB first semester and BC second semester. Our school system is divided into semesters, 4 classes each with a total of 8
Ohhh, alright. My previous post was based on the assumption that each class was full year (which is how it is at my school, we can only either take AB or BC senior year.) In that case, I’d suggest you take both.
In regards to SAT practice, I would not recommend taking it in December then again in May. By doing that, you will be taking both versions of the test, and your preparation schedule will be way off.
