Someone tell me if this is rigorous enough, how I’m doing is fine or not. I’m trying to get into UCB or Georgetown, or an Ivy, something along those lines. I’ll be graduated from my school’s engineering academy (the diploma is issued by my school’s engineering academy).

Alg 2/Trig A/B
Spanish 2 B/B
Biology w/Research A/A (won county science fair so got that research credit as well)
Honors Chemistry (summer) A/A + grade bump

Intro to Engineering Design A/A
Total GPA: 3.81

Sophomore

I’m trying to do better this year though, and also take some classes over the summer, not sure yet. If I do, it would probably be to meet my school’s PE or Health graduation requirement.

AP Government and Politics (Honors Credit)
Honors Advanced Chemistry
Academic Algebra II
Honors Enriched English II
Honors German III
Intermediate Band

Ugh, I wanted to take Algebra 2 so bad…I’m taking an online class for it this year though.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to this post. College Confidential never updates me. We haven’t had to read any of those David Christian articles, but we are doing some Socratic seminars this week.

How about ECs? Any interesting extracurriculars?

To name a few:
-My Varsity Volleyball season just ended, which means travel starts in 2 weeks! Trying for nationals this year.
-I’m getting ready for regional HOSA bowl and Environthon competitions in November
-Just auditioned for Hairspray the Musical at my school and I hope I get Lil Inez or a Dynamite. So many good people auditioned this year!
-Winter Track season starting, I hope I’ll be able to do it between Junior Olympics volleyball and hairspray.

So yeah, EC’s are going well. My other stuff is just the ushe (clubs, volunteering, church, etc). Getting ready for the PSAT this week and possibly the SAT in december

AP World History
AP Statistics (Junior and Senior course at my school, yet I’m the only one with an A :D)
Pre-Calculus Honors
Chemistry H (would have rathered taken it as a freshman, but exclusively sophomore)
Spanish 10 NL H (hardest class in the school to get an A, very demanding teacher)
English Lit (no honors english offered, exclusively Junior and Senior course)
Adv Physics (Pre-AP course, mainly Juniors and Seniors)

Shaywood, Sigh. David Christian is just…you don`t want to even know. My class agreed we should send him a letter telling him to stop writing boring stuff about trade and the Silk Road and get a girlfriend, and a life. My teacher insists in using his work.
Lets see, ECs:
-Uh, SCAEL team, basically a quiz bowl, except where I live, it`s called that...yeah.
-Track in the spring
-Newspaper
-Youth Group, and we do lots of volunteering and stuff
-International Club
-Volunteering

Ha, yeah we`ve done one compare and contrast essay…not fun.
The first test, almost everyone passed, and I got a 76. 2nd test, 26 as well. Last year was my teachers first year teaching AP, and shes gotten to be really good at it...she said everyone at least got a 3 last year on the exam, and says we`re doing good on the tests considering some failed all the tests.

But I`m mad because I ended the first quarter with a B. -_- Not very happy, but at least I can try to get it up to an A for the semester.
