Sophomore Transfer- Financial Aid questions

Hi, I'm considering applying to USC as a sophomore transfer but I have a few questions.

Are there any scholarships available to those who transfer after 1 year?

If I am not awarded any scholarships is it still possible to attend USC if FASFA and the CSS profile determines that I have a low EFC and high need?

Thanks for any help.

Most of the continuing student scholarships are awarded by the individuals schools and/or major programs. I don’t know about transfer scholarships, so I would wait until some of the more knowledgeable posters step into this thread. I have not, however, heard of transfer student scholarships.

This doesn’t mean you can’t get any scholarships. There are thousands of outside (non-USC) scholarships you should begin applying to. Some scholarships are small and a $500 prize might not seem like much – but if you manage to win several $500 scholarships, you could cover a portion of your housing, a class, etc.

If you are accepted and enroll at USC, you can also win scholarships for USC students in your second semester and your junior/senior years.

Yes. USC is very generous in its financial aid. You could get a grant (like a scholarship, but need based and you don’t repay it) or a combination of grants and loans that covers your cost of attendance.

Late but Thanks for the post Zelda F., anyone else please let me know if they do have scholarships for transfers after 1 year. I’m glad that USC is generous in financial aid however if I don’t/can’t receive any scholarships.
