Hi, I am new to this site, and I was wondering how colleges might see an upward trend starting Sophomore year, instead of Junior year? Since I know some people usually take education serious around the start of Junior year, and that’s why it is common for an upward trend around that time. But just recently my GPA for second semester Sophomore year was a 3.825, and my first semester was around a 3.2. So I just wanted your guys opinions/comments on how they may see that? Since both GPA’s are on different scales, and if I continue this way will they be more likely to pick me? Thank you.
I don’t know where you heard that people don’t take education seriously until junior year, that’s not true. What you’ve probably heard is that the first 2 years of HS are for exploring your interests, not that they don’t matter. Of course, any upward trend is good, but it won’t make them more likely to choose you over an applicant that never had the need to move upward in the first place.
