Hi fellow UCF students, alumni, parents :)
My name is Nichole, I was recently accepted to UCF Spring and I cannot wait. Thinking eagerly about my future there I started considering the organizations and sororities on campus and whether or not they were worth it. I hope someone can be of help.

1- Sororities have a big part in most Universities, and UCF has a large amount of the former. I was wondering, Is joining a sorority beneficial for my future in any way? (Other than the friendships I'll form which is inevitable.) But will it help in any way my career or my development? Do I have to be an athletic person? Is it an obligation to participate in all their activities? Another thing, I'm not from USA so please don't take this personally, the portrayal Sororities have where I come from and in television are usually of people who love to get drunk, party, have sex and do a lot of things they shouldn't be doing. It's not to say I'm a boring person and I don't have fun but will that be my reputation being in a sorority? Is that what people will really think of me if I say I'm in a sorority?

(So many questions I'm sorry! I hope you guys can answer them.)

Has anyone been in OSSM ? It sounds well...awesome :) What activities do they do? Is it effective? Are friendships formed?

Thank you so much in advance!
For all you parents out there, if you were in a fraternity/sorority, How did it affect your future career and life?

Have a very nice day all ;)
