Since were now seniors applying for college. Isn't anyone else scarred of getting that rejection letter in the mail. There's this one school I want to go to, but its really selective. I think I may get rejected, or kindly rejected (waitlisted).

There are worse things than a rejection letter.

You never know, you could always try.:)

Be scared now, you’ll be scarred after being rejected.

But anyway, nah, if it happens, it happens. It’ll be a downer, but hey, it’s not the most important thing.

I was rejected from three colleges of the eleven I applied to. I laughed. The premise of rejection is much scarier than rejection itself, trust me.

^You fared far better than I did. I was rejected by 10 out of 17 schools I had applied to(Well maybe applying to so many schools affects a little).

But don’t panic, especially now when the application season is coming-after getting your first admission letter, you won’t feel bothered by those bloody rejection letters any more, trust me!
:D

One of my fears is failure, so … Yeah, I’m pretty scared for those letters.
I know I’ll get some for sure. I’m not highly/overly academic, so I’m already expecting them …
Isn’t that sad? :|

^That is sad. But there are so many failure and only one success. But why are you so scared, I mean these are “just” colleges.

I don’t really understand how being rejected is scary. I wasn’t rejected from anywhere though, so I don’t know.

I think its that feeling of not being wanted. Especially if it looks like the perfect school. The only rejections that I won’t care about are from schools with a less than 10% acceptance rate.

The letter’s more likely to be all ‘We regret to inform you…’ instead of ‘Sorry, but you’ve been rejected’, which is a harsher but more humorous alternative.

I’m going to be crushed no matter what rejection I get. I’m aiming for 3 ‘dream’ schools (though none are Ivies), which are more [dream schools] than what most apply to, 2 matches, and 2 or 3 safeties, with a super-safety being community college with a guaranteed transfer to a match school later on.
The key to not having rejection really hurt is to not care about those schools too much…to learn to love matches and safeties instead of fantasizing and obsessively researching that one school. But I do it anyway =P

You’re rejected from 100% of the schools you don’t apply to.

Two rejection letters.

Colleges don’t reject me, I reject colleges.

Hm, doable. If you’re accepted to multiple colleges, you have to tell some you won’t be attending. Send a letter,

"Dear _____ University,

I regret to inform you that you have not been selected for my attendance in the coming school year. I would like to assure you that it was no fault of your own; there were just too many great colleges to choose from, I wish I had been able to attend them all. I wish you the best of luck with your other student acceptances.

Sincerely,

________"

Or just find someone who was rejected from that college, and copy the rejection letter, with minor alterations.

Nice variation of a Wayne Gretzky quote.

I do what I can.

"Sorry, but you’ve been rejected. " -> That’s what she said :'(

^ D’awwwww.

But seriously, I’m freaking out about getting rejected from the school I’m applying ED to. I really want to go there and on top of that, everyone expects me to get in. Graagh.
