Sort of worried bout the rest of my time here.

From what I've heard about Engineering, the classes get significantly much harder after freshmen year.

I've also talked to some seniors in which they also said that they tend to have gotten much higher GPAs than they did freshmen year. But then I've also heard that Junior year and senior year will really kick your butt. I looked at my course load for junior year and the coursework looks a little intimidating. Also, is Freshmen year the year in which you shape your GPA? Because in Junior year, you will be begging for Cs in your classes?

Not to mention they say that if you get around a 3.0 GPA by graduation [and an internship], you can usually get a job. How hard is it to get a 3.0? and is it really true?

I can only talk about my major, I’ve gotten yelled at in the past for commenting on anything else.

The classes do get harder and more demanding, but you just adjust to it. I remember when I was a freshman I would be going to SI sessions weekly for IEA, physics, or whatever. Now I’ve developed the independence to study on my own or the connections to study with friends I have made so I don’t necessarily need to go to the professor or a TA outside of class.

As you go into more advanced classes the professors will engage you more, so if you end up needing help they are definitely (for the most part) open to helping you.

In the end the work does get harder but generally the courses will be more fun if you truly enjoy your major.

If you want, send me a PM with your facebook so we can talk outside of the forums. I can try and hook you up with some backwork or advice for professors. If I can’t help you, I’ll ask a few friends and see what they think.

Disclosure: Currently a junior. More of begging for A’s, not C’s. As long as you can work hard and study enough, anything is possible. I’m in a fraternity, involved in multiple leadership EC’s, and have a girlfriend. I’m not a mindless drone, nor am I incredibly intelligent.
