SOS!! Clemson and USC chances?

I know Clemson is very competitive and slightly harder to get into with an acceptance rate of 51%. I was wondering what are my chances of getting in with a 4.34 gpa and class rank of 39 out of 413 ( top 10%).

I am in the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) so my classes are very rigorous. (I’ve also taken two AP classes and passed) I’ve been a part of the varsity track team in 9th and 10th grade. I am apart of Beta Club and BEST club (science club). I am the Historian of National Honors Society and Vice President of Junior Civitans.

I am South Asian and speak another language at home (no idea if my race plays a role in calculating my chances)

As far as SAT scores go, I did god awful my first time and received a 1090 mainly due to the fact that I was swamped with work last year and did not have time to study at all. I’ve been taking practice exams on Khan Academy and have signed up to take it a second time in October. I’m sure my score will rise at least 200 points with the results I’ve been seeing from the practice exam.

So hypothetically speaking, with at least a 1290 and a 4.3 gpa, what are my chances of getting accepted? I can’t stop stressing.

What major?

Computer Programming/Software Engineering

@carolinamom2boys ^^^ sorry I forgot to tag you in my response

Engineering is one of the hardest majors to be accepted into. Are you instate or out of state?

@carolinamom2boys In-state

Clemson makes acceptance decisions based on GPA, test scores , rank and rigor. Several years ago, I would say that you had a great chance. It has gotten very competitive and students with higher stats than you were bridged or deferred . It’s very hard to predict . Two years ago, they had approx 21,000 applications , last year they had over 28,000
