SOS: REALLY bad subject test scores. What should I do?

Okay, let me just preface this a little bit. My school's supposedly really challenging compared to a lot of high schools in the area. I have pretty good grades (~3.57 UW/4.04 W/3.79 UC GPA) w/ basically all honors and AP classes, but my SAT scores don't reflect that. I think my actual SAT's fine, but my subject test scores literally make me wanna cry. I got 480 in French with Listening and 520 in Bio (to be fair, I didn't study much). But I definitely knew what I was doing in my Honors French classes and Honors Bio class, and I aced them, but I feel like colleges won't take them into account and just assume that my school's really easy (even though it's the complete opposite... like it's a nightmare). Can I omit these scores from my UC app or ANY app? Or should I just be on the safe side and send all of my scores so I won't get penalized later? Will these bad scores kill my chances of getting into any college (I especially care about the UCs)?? I don't know what to do; I can't retake them in December!

It depends upon each UC and how competitive the major you are applying. UC Davis stated that the subject tests can only help not hurt your chances, but I am not sure about the rest. I would assume if the UC does not recommend SAT subject tests for your major, they could only help you with a good score and you would not be penalized for a bad score.

Omit them for now but indicate you’ll retake in December, this time STUDY for them, and send those scores directly. You’ll have a late fee or may have to go as a standby.
