sour 16.

Today is my 16th birthday... What should I do? My mom gave me a necklace that I don't really like and my dad is taking my brother and I out to dinner tonight. It just doesn't feel special.. None of my birthdays do. I don't have any best friends and the boy I like who like(d)[?] me don't talk. Blah.

Yeah no one really ever cares about my birthday. I’ve actually forgotten what day it is several times. And I don’t have any super great friends.

Maybe you could buy something, or do that thing that begins with an M that adults do to pleasure themselves.

make the most of it. it’s your day…do what you want.
happy birthday! :)

do something new that you haven’t done before, that way you’ll have a good birthday story

e.g. my 18th birthday i got yelled at by a homeless guy for not giving him a cookie

Happy birthday!! But don’t worry, my 16th didn’t feel that special either. I just went to the movies with one friend and did the normal family stuff on my actual birthday.

Maybe go shopping? If you don’t really like the necklace your mom gave you, you could always go out and buy yourself something you do like (maybe not a necklace since you probably don’t want your mom to know you don’t like the one she gave you… but something else interesting).

My birthday never feels very special either. I think I had my last party when I turned 12, though sometimes I’ve had joint parties (because nearly all of my friends were born in May or early June, strange). I end up out of town for my birthday a lot, so it’s considered less important than whatever reason we have for being where we are. Like, for my 18th birthday, I played quiz team matches, my parents and I took my sister grocery shopping, and then I went to her rugby party with all of her friends. Not fun.

Do something you really like. Anything. Eat all of your favorite foods (For my 17th birthday, I ate mushrooms, eggplant, raspberries, vegetable chips, pop tarts, and kool aid. Little things that made me happy). Or go out to a movie, of your choice of course, with a group of acquaintances/not-so close friends, since you say you don’t have a bff.

Tell her how you feel.

Todays my 18th birthday… and I spent the past couple hours waiting for AP scores to come out. I know how you feel :)

lol first post in ages. but. i spent my birthday taking AP tests for 6 hours after a late-nighter, half of that was spent in a tiny room with the proctor sitting right behind me cause i was only one taking test. and then came home, passed out, woke up and was severely disappointed someone ignored my birthday. T_T its funny when i look back though.

Happy birthday!

^Wow, that’s unfortunate.

I stopped celebrating birthdays when I was like, 6.

But I still go out to eat or see a movie on my birthday though. I just don’t throw a party for it.

Go skinny dipping.

It will solve all your problems.

I didn’t have a party for my 16th, either… I got $100 and went out to dinner with my mom and brother. (Yeah, my dad didn’t even go.)

Just chillax, have a (root) beer, watch TV.

Happy birthday!!

We never do anything for birthdays or holidays or anything, in terms of presents at least. We have a nice dinner for holidays but birthdays are completely ignored.

Lol today is my 16th birthday also! (But it’s almost over lolz…)

We were supposed to go out to dinner but I wasn’t feeling in the mood so we are just gonna do it another time.

My birthday present is that my parents are going to pay for my driving school, it’s $400.

Hope you had a good birthday! (I didn’t.)

EDIT: It’s 11:59pm but the forums think it’s 12:02 for some reason. 1 minute left of my bday :o

I dont think i had a 16th birthday party. But for my 17th i want to go to dave and busters

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EVERYONE WHOSE BIRTHDAY FALLS ON THIS HAPPY DAY OR ANY HAPPY DAY WHEN THEY FEEL SOUR~

It’s not a sour 16 if nothing happens, though. It’s a sour 16 if something bad happens. I personally think birthdays are overrated. You can have a decent time the other 364 (365?) days of the year without “it’s my birthday” as the excuse.

But seriously, I like ^^ vv’s answer.

Haha, well thanks everyone and happy birthday to whoever said that it was their birthday as well.

I had no sleep last night so I was exhausted all of today. I went out for a delicious Japanese lunch with my mom and brother but I felt bad because I fell asleep after and I was supposed to go out to dinner with my dad and brother… I didn’t get any cake  Ugh.

The guy I like writes on legitimately, every of his Facebook friend’s walls on their birthday. He’s amazingly nice. Today, I saw that he was on Facebook but he didn’t say ‘happy birthday’ to me or this other girl… hm.

That’s okay ^^^^^ I’ve gotten my unfair share of rejections too

On my 16th birthday only one person said happy birthday to me at my school and that was this creepy guy and I was so upset plus I thought my friends completely forgot. Then they threw me a surprise party except that, was after I had gone home and cried so ya I know what you mean.
