<p>I didn’t get any indication of UCBoundVet “showing off” in any of his posts. His comment in regards to “carrying a pack through Iraq” might come across as hubris to those who have no clue, like yourself. To others, we acknowledge that his experience is a fact of life for veterans. Although I don’t share the same worries with him as far as admissions are concerned, I applaud his efforts to maximize his benefits by attending a UC. </p>

<p>@ Visit Still a clown. I dont believe I was showing off. Showing off would be posting my DD214 along with my 3.9 GPA to show that it is you that should be worried about me taking your spot. </p>
<p>Anyways the post was to have fun, generate a buzz and talk about things during a time in the admissions process where not a lot is going on. I am not going to lie, I am nervous. Not because I didnt work hard and put together a solid body of work, but because its natural to be anxious about big moves like this. Five years ago (exactly on 4/12) I was sitting on the side of a road with a fractured spine waiting for back up in the middle of a desert. Now I am waiting to find out which top tier university will accept me. Life is good, god is good, and this country is good. Good luck to everyone, even my little clown.</p>

<p>Please tell me no one honestly believes they are taking spots. It may take you a longer time to get a response like Vet said but these applicants aren’t “stealing spots”. </p>

<p>@ Mrandall hah We see this every year. A few people start getting annoying/anxious that they haven’t received acceptance letter so they start shifting blame and the name calling begins.</p>
