Hi! I am considering applying to be a part of the REAL program for incoming freshmen, and I was wondering what South dorm is like, specifically what the quad set up is like. Are there bunk beds, or does each student have his/her own individual bed? (not a big fan of bunk beds) Would any current students be able to give me some insight as to what the dorm is like? Thanks!
I have only seen a few of the rooms in South, and am most familiar with a corner quad. The REAL program frosh have the third and fourth floors of South. The corner quad that I know has a very large common room with a non-functional fireplace. The kids have their desks in this room, as well as two small refrigerators, a futon, coffee table, and flat screen TV on the window sill. They all sleep in the same room, with two bunk beds and four dressers. There is a closet/storage area/hall leading to a bathroom that has two vanities, a toilet and a large tiled shower. From what I hear, South is considered one of the best freshman dorms on campus.
Hamilton has floor plans and virtual tours of all the residence halls available on the college website. Here is the link for South:
