Southern Schools

I’m a junior in Maryland. My gpa is a 3.5 unweighted and a 4.0 weighted, my sat score is a 1850, I’m in some clubs and honor societies, i have lots of leadership activities, and I have multiple survice hours. I am looking at colleges and having difficulty knowing which schools I’d get into and which schools are a good fit for me! I want a school in the south, not ridiclously expensive, has Greek life, football would be ideal but not necessary, and I prefer a town located in a nice college town or city. Somewhere where stuff happens not in the middle of no where. Currently I’m interested in schools such as usc, Clemson, charleston, fsu, auburn, uf, Tennessee, Virginia tech, ut austin and tcu! Please tell me your opinions or any advice thanks!!

Depending on your definition of nowhere, a lot of southern schools aren’t very close to the major metropolitan areas of the south (i.e. Memphis, Nashville, Charleston, etc.) except for UT (Knoxville?), UT Austin, Charleston, FSU and some of the other flagship state university that are located in the south. However, they’re all in pretty great college towns that have a lot of stuff going on for college kids, which should make for a great college experience and provide the experience of being in a major university in the south.

Your stats are pretty good for all of the schools that you’re interested in, but you should take the SAT again just to see if you can do better, so that way your application is more competitive.

SMU - Southern Methodist University (non religious) - Dallas, TX.
Southwestern University - Georgetown, TX (by UT-Austin).
Baylor University - Waco, TX
Tulane University

College town is great for me! Doesn’t have to be a major city or a city at all just places to go for colleges students.
