How are the rest of you dealing with the lack of space on columbia's online app? I can hardly fit any of my extracurriculars on there. Im starting to think that I have no other choice but to use the paper app.

its pretty well known that columbia's online app is not the most user-friendly one.

I actually liked it that way when I filled out the application, made me really edit my reponses in order to say exactly what I want and fitting in the space given. simple, short, and to the point, I think the admission team likes that (hence the applicaton design)

but if you really feel the need to put more, there's always the extra attachment page for the online app.

if you fill the paper app, make sure you have really good handwritting.

I think someone in another thread said that Columbia really prefers the online app... Maybe they're just testing our ability to be concise. It's really frustrating, but if the majority of kids use online, I'm sure you can figure out how to fit your information.

Arg, damn space limitations.

Yea, I called them today regarding if I could send in a paper app. They replied and I quote, "If you registered online with us for a email list or if you started your application online, we're going to assume you have access to the internet. If you read our website, it says that only use paper apps if you don't have access to the internet... so we'll wonder why you decided to use the paper app if you have internet" (endquote). -_-'

And he said taht theoretically they took the letter "W" capitalized it and made sure that theorteically the paper and online app would have the same amount of room. Bottom line, use paper app at your own risk...
