What are you guys doing for housing selection? D wants to go potluck and is opposed to writing one more essay just to get a dorm room.

Honors housing was nice in that it was all good students and interesting in that they studied all different majors. Many activities are offered. Really, it is mostly a social thing. Maybe it is a little quieter than regular housing.

SPACE tended to be mostly serious students, too. The good thing about SPACE is that you would be with alot of other students who had the same homework and tests as you did.

Both of the above are divided into male and female floors. But really, it is very easy to get together with other students for studying or projects anywhere in the three towers.

I chose to apply for the Honors Dorm. I just hope it ends up beng just a bit more of subdued environment than the normal housing.

SPACE :) yea..the essays were a bit of a pain

What I can't figure out is why Pitt doesn't just make as much specialty housing (like SPACE or Honors or w/e) as there is demand for. So add a floor or two and eliminate the essays.

What is SPACE?

My daughter wants to live in Towers, checked the box for "quiet floor" on her housing application. . .

She's not in Honors, is that what SPACE is about?

Students Pursuing Academics and Careers in Engineering (SPACE) is a living and learning community in Tower A for first year engineering students.

Will I get Honors housing for being in the Honors College?

Probably, if you want it. Look in your housing stuff, or look online at the Honors College link, and get the honors housing application.
