Well, that's the score at the moment, and doesn't look like it's going to change. U.S.' were criminally underrated, and although Spain improved after the break, the second goal killed Spain off. One surprise after another.

U.S.A - 2
Spain - 0

FINAL.

I really didn’t expect the U.S. to get past Egypt. Then they come in and embarrass the “No.1” team in the world. I have to give them props, they played well. Let’s see if they can pull the same thing against Brazil/South Africa.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

^Yeah, U.S. fans should be proud of their soccer team.

the US has a history of pulling off massive upsets as well as losing to teams significantly weaker than them

a double edged sword, really

My son went CRAZY when the Jozy Altidore scored. I said, well it’s too early to know…He disagreed STRONGLY. Wow.

haha spain pretty much outplayed the US though…i think the keeper should’ve been the man of the match…i’ve never seen anybody make so many saves

this is one of those moments where i am going to buy a newspaper tomorrow ;)

Spain or US keeper? Youtube has NOTHING! Maybe ESPN.

US keeper

I started watching this game hoping we would play fairly well. After about the sixth minute and Davies’ bicycle kick I began to feel pretty good. We got the job done on both ends of the field but this really was a huge defensive victory. Howard, Demerit and Onyewu were the men of the match as far as I am concerned. However, as the mother of a defender I am a bit biased.

:)

Reminded me of Chelsea - Barcelona, defence + discipline versus attacking mentality. Marking Xavi out was pretty important too, and there was no Iniesta to save Spain with last minute goal as he did with Barca. Also somewhat reminiscent of Greece’s Europe Championship run. Tim Howard was man of the match though, hands down.

when i saw the end of that game yesterday i was in complete shock.
also hurts that i’m a spain/torres/villa fan.
and a spain/brazil final would have been awesome.

As one who is not necessarily geared towards either team I would have much rather seen a Espa

It’s official…we’ll be playing Brazil again. Hopefully we actually show up this time.
