Spanish 1220 Difficulty

I just preenrolled in Spanish 1220, but I’ve heard the languages at Cornell are very time consuming and rigorous. This semester I only took 14 credits (two of which were easy lecture credits) and with Spanish I would be taking 18 next semester. Is this too much? I’m also working a job that requires me to work a minimum of 16 hours per week and plan on rushing a social sorority. Thank you

My kids purposely had an easier course load when they joined a sorority. My younger daughter was fluent in Spanish and she found it fairly challenging (number of hours required) when she took a semester of Spanish. I think you would be better off with a lighter course in spring if you are going to join a sorority. There will be a lot mixers that you will need to attend.
