Spanish 275

I just got back from orientation and somehow placed out of spanish. I don't think I'm very good at spanish but want to continue taking it. how hard is spanish 275? Are most of the people in that class almost fluent and great spanish speakers?

I am taking 232 at the moment and my professor is under the impression that we are nearly fluent. I am not sure if I agree.

Spanish 275 isn’t too bad. It’s just a lot of grammar. The ability of the students varied widely in my class. There were kids who could speak almost fluently and those who were still working on the basics. If you put in a decent amount of time, you’ll do well in the class.

Spanish 275 is basically grammar and composition.

However, 232 is basically review of the three previous spanish classes. If your Spanish is pretty fresh, I wouldn’t worry too much about 275. However, speaking in class will be a challenge. I find that most people are pretty good at reading/writing, but not so good at speaking.
