Just some advice needed! I went and talked to my counselor today about language programs and she brought up Dartmouth. I know there has been quite a few people asking about them!

I spent my last year as an exchange student in Chile (Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarship Junior Year) and learned Spanish fluently. I just got home and believe that my test scores for the ACT MAY be low. I believe my GPA is fine (3.6 but in Texas this is a 96% which is a 4.0 on many scales), top 10 percent of class, varsity swimming (although not a potential recruit)...basically well-rounded.

My question: Is it nearly impossible to be admitted if your GPA is decent, extra credits that stand out, and lousy test grades (24-26 on ACT) that DON'T correlate? I'm only assuming this if my essay is well done and receive good teacher reccomendations.

I just want to make sure I am not wasting my time! I know Ivy League admissions are tough and want some input! Thanks

Oh, as far as SAT II's...expecting a 780+ in Spanish and not sure about World History...will have to study for that one separately. Could that 780 compensate for something?
