Hi!
So I’m in Spanish II right now, and I started off the trimester with a 93. My final grade for the class was a 91 for the trimester and this trimester I’ve been struggling a bit, my first two quizzes being an 82 and and 84. I’m really frustrated with myself and I don’t know how to improve. Would getting a tutor be the best option? It’s a very tough class, in all honesty, and I really want to do well, considering it’s one of my highest classes and I want to be able to take AP Spanish one day…
If anyone has any tips about how to do well in Spanish, please let me know!
Know what you struggle with, and practice it. If you have trouble with indirect and direct pronouns, practice them. If you can’t tell when to use por and para, practice them. If you search “B.K. Nelson colby edu” on Google, select the first link that shows up, and select the link by B.K. Nelson, that gives you a lot of grammar practice.
Also, read a lot in Spanish, and try to listen to things in Spanish. It doesn’t matter if it is a tv show in Spanish, Spanish music, a Spanish translation fo a book, or a online article in Spanish, practice reading and listening (and if you can, speaking) in Spanish.
I would suggest this TV show called “Extra”
When I started Spanish 3 Honors this year I struggled a bit because I was in Spanish 2 regular and Spanish 1 regular for 8th grade and freshman year (i took it on FLVS and that was all they had). It took a little more practice that I thought it would… but honestly the only way to have a good Spanish grade is by spending every night about 20 minutes practicing the verb tenses and practice speaking Spanish to a spanish speaking friend (thats what I do).
