So I think I completely failed this test on Saturday - like, I skipped 15. Seeing as I'm not a native speaker (I'm actually Asian), I was just aiming for 700+ to apply to top-tier schools.

But now I don't think I'm even going to pass 700 - should I just cancel my scores and take the Spanish WITHOUT Listening later?

I know colleges like Ivies would prefer to see the subject test with listening, but there is NO WAY I can do well on that test. Would it look bad to send in a 700+ score on the language test without listening (I think I can do much better on that)?

I took the Spanish Subject test in October (660) and Spanish with Listening Subject test yesterday. I left 8 blank on the Spanish test and I thought that test was much more difficult than the Spanish with Listening test. I finished the Spanish with Listening test with ~5 min. to spare. This could just apply to me, but the tests are very similar minus the 30 listening questions. I think that if you cancel your scores now, you’re going to be in a difficult situation because the Spanish Subject Test is also difficult.

And colleges do understand if you submit a test without listening. I don’t know exactly how much it “hurts,” but if you score 700+ on the Spanish test, I think you should be good.

Well of the 15 you omitted, how many were from the listening portion? The listening portion is the easiest for me, which is why I do that test as opposed to Spanish without listening. If you are more of a grammar and vocab guy/girl, then maybe you would do better on the regular spanish subject test.
