Sparknotes Chem Tests

How accurate are they?

Are they easier or harder than the real thing?

Thanks

I thought they were pretty good. I thought they were just a little bit harder than the real thing.

Quite a bit harder. My scores on them were 680, 720, 620. My score on the real thing was 800

The test questions they have are very similar to the actual exam's, only with a harsher curve. I scored 740, 730, and 740 on them and scored 800 on the actual exam this past June.

i scored 690, 750, 760 and scored 790 in the real thing (wow...a lot of 800s i see )
I mean i thought they were actually about the same in difficulty but the curve on the real thing was more generous

does the real test contain sigma and pi bonds, & hybridization?

Yes. Know them

@lolcats4

why was your 3rd SN test score lower than the first 2 scores?

just curious

I guess I was having a bad day or something. I was trying really hard to get an 800 on it though lol

do they test electrochemistry and transition metals as well?
oh wait how about organic chemistry.. is it tested as well?

A little bit of each of those

the questions were the same difficulty
a lot of questions from sparks were on the June test so they're definitely worth it

i just got a 690 on a test but 1 of my answers didnt go through that was actually right..do you think that would have given me a 700?

also does anyone know anything of the curve on the SN tests?

The curve is much harsher for the SN tests - basically, if you're scoring 700+, you're more or less guaranteed around a 780-800. Also, 800 for the June Chemistry SAT II was 95th percentile, so the curve is usually not too bad on the actual exam.

sorry same idea, but what did you guys score on PR Tests?

i didnt want to waste space by making a new thread so i thought to continue from here.

i took the first test from it, and i was quite disappointed because i got a 670, why is that? i was scoring higher on the SN & Barrons tests
