Sparknotes History Practice Tests

How realistic are the practice tests on the Sparknotes website for US history? I've heard that for SAT I, it is much harder than the actual test. What score would you need in the Sparknotes tests for say 700 on the actual test?

Thanks :)

The tests are generally based on their own free prep materials and have more fact-based one line questions than the real thing. I consider them pretty good for building up knowledge base, but the real test often involves (at least semi)reasoning-based and more general questions.

Basically, although Sparknotes’ tests are useful for preparation, they are not really in accordance. I suggest you take Collegeboard’s tests from the official US & World History prep book when looking for realistic results.

What about difficulty? If you get say 600 on a Sparknotes test, what mark would you likely get on the real test?

It’s very likely that you will get more. If I remember correctly I scored a little over 600 on Sparknotes and over 700 on the administered test.

Ok. Thanks :)

What about the practice tests at the back of the Princeton Review book?

when i took the practice test in US history i scored a 680 but the next day was able to get an 800 on the real thing. i took APUSH my junior year but this was in november so i hadn’t done much studying. i find them to be good practice just for review purposes if you’re trying to study after already taking the class.

@kate6208- sorry but are you talking about the Princeton Review ones or the Sparknotes ones?

the sparknotes. i didnt review at all or buy a book and i managed an 800 on that and a 720 on math I
