<p>Can a non-partier make it in a fraternity or sorority? I know that non-partiers will be fine at Penn, but what about in the Greek scene? I don't party but I'd like to experience the comraderie of a fraternity.</p>

<p>Dude I’m serious. My uncle is an investment banker and Dartmouth grad. He’s like 60 but he’s still close with his frat brothers. He works with them, passes work to them, etc. He told me this summer that his frat helped him in his career and he feels an obligation to help younger members of his frat. Man I really want that kind of connection and brotherhood. The problem is that I don’t smoke, drink, or party, all of which are done in abundance at frats. My question is legit. Can someone like me make in in Greek life? I’m a varsity athlete on campus so I know which frat I want and I have a good shot of pledging so it’s a real dilemma for me.</p>

<p>I understand your feelings about getting completely hammered, but is there really anything wrong with a few (for you, a few maybe be only one) drinks in moderation? It’s not like alcohol is evil; to give some perspective, children during the middle ages drank wine, not juice.</p>
<p>Not everyone in the greek system drinks - I would say that the majority do, but you can still have a good time without the alchy.</p>
