I'm a sophomore at Bronx HS of Science, in NY. This year I was able to get into the AP Physics B course a year earlier than what the state allows "officially" - that is, I have yet to take the regents course, but the Physics department allowed me to take the AP course anyway (I'll take the regents at the end of the school year). Apparently, I'm the first person to do this at my school (as far as I know). Although I'm only two weeks into the course, I'm keeping up with the material and the work, and supplementing it on the side to make sure I don't fall behind (so my grade is not at risk here is what I'm saying). My question though, is whether this early acceptance into Physics B (too bad it's not C, but I have yet to master calculus :( ) would be a "valuable" thing on my resume/college application?

Nope. I understand that different school has different prerequisites on courses that vary in strictness. But an AP course is still an AP course. In my junior year I took Physics B without ANY prior physics prep, along with Calcu BC (without Calcu AB), AP environmental sci, AP Comp sci, AP English Lang, and Macro econ and Micro econ. I got all 5’s on 6 test that year. Am I gonna tell the colleges that i worked my butt off more than other kids? Nope, it should be self-explanatory. Colleges always compare kids based on what is available to them at their schools, and if your secondary-school report/ counselor rec reveals that what you are doing is in fact a BIG deal (as you say it is), then yea it might help a bit.

Here is the moral of my long rant. You can never be satisfied with yourself. Always aim for higher.

Oh btw, I took AP bio in my sophomore year without any bio class before EVER IN MY LIFE
