I really want to to to Northeastern but it is a reach
3.2 GPA at top school in state
1800 SAT
lots of good extracurriculars dont feel like listing
both parents attended
mom used to work there many years ago

anyways to get the point, my family knows someone there and i got an email inviting me to interview with an admissions member (they dont usually do interviews)

if i do well how much can this help me and what are my chances?

Ridiculous. You’re telling us that you had some connections so you got a special interview?

That said, your grades and SAT scores have been and will be the biggest factor of your admission (closely followed by EC’s). The interview plays a role, but not large enough to make or break your application.

I did give you some insight. Maybe you should read my post again. Calm down; I mean, I know your excited about getting an interview (I’ll let you decide if you deserved it or not), but maybe you should actually read my post.

That said, I’ll repeat it again: your GPA and SAT scores (along with EC’s) are of larger importance than the interview.
