anyways to get the point, my family knows someone there and i got an email inviting me to interview with an admissions member.

if i do well how much can this help me and what are my chances?

These interviews are usually regarded as a courtesy to applicants who come from families associated with the university in some way. If interviews are not extended to every applicant, it will not carry a terribly significant amount of weight, especially based on the information you have posted. Generally these interviews tend to be more focused on you learning about the school than they are an evaluation of you as a candidate. However, because interviews are not a standard part of the application process, if you interview with the same person who will read your application, you’ll name will likely stand out in their mind. Sometimes that helps a bit.
