I just received another letter from Princeton (I have been admitted) informing me that I am essentially one of the "creme de la creme" applicants and giving me a list of faculty phone numbers/email addresses to contact if I have any questions. Is this for real, or is this a letter sent out to all admitted students? Has anyone else received/heard of someone receiving the same letter?

John

I also recieved such a letter and I was wondering if it was an exclusive thing or something they send out to everyone as well.

My son just rec'ed it as well.

were you all RD'ers?

I got it too, RD. But I think it was just a phrasing thing and he meant it towards all admitted students.

ok thanks .

guys i got the exact same letter last year that used the same phrase...don't read into it

But was a really nice letter. To be accepted to Princeton, I say you all should be very proud of yourselves.

I got this letter too, also RD. It was nice to get, regardless of whether or not it is exclusive.

hmm...does anyone else think it would be/is a bit deceptive to send the letter to everyone?

At this point, it makes sense that all applicants belong to the group of 'creme de la creme applicants'. If Princeton weren't an Ivy or a top college, I would agree with you, cinderblock.

Princeton knows at this point they are competing now for accepted bodies- Chances are you were accepted at other schools too. This letter is an attempt to show interest and to flatter. Everyone gets the letter. Don't choose your school based on emotion or vanity. Visit, read the Daily Princetonian, read the nassauweekly.com online make your choice intelligently based on research. You will be in Princeton, NJ for four years! Congratulations on your good fortune.

Did any ED acceptees get it? I didn't. Maybe it is because they do not need to persuade me.

nope i didn't get it

I got the letter and I doubt I'm seriously a quote-unquote creme de la creme admitted applicant

I still think it was a nice letter to send.
