speculation galore

Errr... I didn't say I applied Harvard/Yale early? I just said that I got UserID not found from Harvard... I got defered ED Princeton, btw... But I think unless we have more people putting in info, we can't really conclude... Statistically, we have equal number of people with either of the errors...

I get a Login successful and then an error, Edit:you do not have access to the admissions decisions website

lol. Yale just hasnt updated their website.... so.. chillax.

irock, the issue here is that peole are getting diverted in different directions when they click on the admitted students' link and log in with their appropriate id's and passwords. Nothing to do with incorrect passwords or with Yale not being updated. Try it and see whatcha get.

It has been determined!

Error = reject

Login successful = happy dance!

how has that been determined???

it hasnt....dont worry about it.....its just bored people finding reasons to think about yale instead of enjoying the last few days before decisions.

Mz ,are you dancing?!

lol, no. this does mean something, i've been rejected!!! im able to tell by what semp gets since he was RD, RIGHT semp?!?!?

has anyone who was not deferred EA gotten the login successful and then the error message? because i tend to want to agree with rum's post before: "we can drop it as a function of having "logged on successfully" in the past and just go back to biting our nails." -- but id be happy to be proven incorrect.

Beechbum, you are not alone in your criticism of people with investigative instincts...at least you just call them "bored". Other slurs include, "insane", "luncatics". Do you think the kid on the EA harvard board who discovered the EA Harvard glitch was "bored" or creative/investigative/thinking outside the box??? if a sincere discussion between interested parties about electronic discrepencies does not interest you, please don't name-call---just go elsewhere.

I'm just saying that becuz you are gonna drive yourself nuts....im telling you from experience.....you are gonna waste so much energy and exhaust yourselves. The only reason I posted something was becuz other people read this thread and start to worry about their decisions based upon the above posts. Besides, I thought yale put up a completely separate link for decisions anyway.

Postal, I feel the same way. I started another thread to ask deferees to try it and all I got was verbal abuse for being "wound too tight" or whatever. Funny how some people snarl at you for being stupid when they don't even understand the details here. Anyway, one of the snarlers was an RD who got the "log on successful" so I am starting to think Mz may be right. Now the question is, can we find a deferred person who does NOT get the log on successful...

rum is this who you are speaking of? sempitern: "I get a Login successful and then an error, Edit:you do not have access to the admissions decisions website" --> cause thats not what mine says. i login successfuly and then get a thing to check back on april 1. can everyone please stop fighting, we're all in this together. this used to be such a nice board around EA time. i understand both sides of this argument, but please please please just ignore this thread if you arent interested and post what happens when you put in your info along with whether or not you applied EA if you are interested. im sorry if anything ive said offends anyone, this will be over soon guys!

Beechbum, thx 4 your concern 4 my energy level, but I find this interesting in the same way I find forensics and statistical analysis interesting, so don't worry yourself 'bout little old me. I do share your concern for the other folks who may start to worry by reading speculation; that is why I initiated a thread to call for more people to try this so we could end the speculation. Yale does create a separate link the day before, but the issue here is that some of us are successfully logging into the decision site via the admitted studets link. Get it?

WAIT! i applied early to princeton, not yale. (i got deferred.) when i try the admitted students' page, it says login successful for a little bit and then says, ERROR: You do not have access to the Admissions Decision website.

I got login successful! :D??? I doubt that it means anything though. :( My friend who got into Harvard found out by logging in to the admitted students website an hour before they were supposed to send out the e-mail. I've been doing that for a couple of days now but all I get is "User not found." :( However, if you are right, rumbean22, and I do get into Yale, I don't give a crap about what other schools I get rejected by because I will be crying myself blind and being giddy like crazy. (Wow, this is really bad, I should be thinking about how I'd be if I got rejected, not accepted, since that's probably not going to happen.)

OK, let's clarify! Does it say "Edit" or "ERROR"?

Doesn't everyone get "Login Successful"? And then it takes you to the site. What's on that site is what matters, don't confuse us! We all get login successful at first....

Postal, well put, thx...yes, that is who I was referring to...so now we have:
RD log on successful, "no access" error
RD no succesful log on, "no access" error
EA log on successful, return April 1 error
Any RD's get our April 1 error?
Any EA's fail to get a logon successful?

does anyone NOT get login successful? and also, im confused about the different messages that pop up AFTER the login successful. mine never says error, it says to check back on april 1st.
