Yes DC MD VA and PA were invited to that event I believe.
Just another anecdotal story – friend’s D was accepted EA. She is unhooked, other than legacy. Great kid, good stats, but not tippy top. They even referenced in her EA acceptance letter that she was a legacy (I saw it myself).
Like @MamaBear16 's friend, my acceptance letter had a line about “continuing my family’s tradition at the University of Chicago.” I think the U of C included that in all acceptance letters to legacies.
