Is anyone familiar with the Speech Pathology program at NYU? My D was recently accepted for the MS program there. Any comments on the program would be appreciated.
My daughter was also accepted. She was in from out of state for another interview in NYC and they were actually quite unfriendly when she attempted to visit the program . Would be curious what others know about it?
Along the same lines what do you know about the Speech Language Pathology programs for graduate work at Columbia Teachers College, Norttheastern, Boston University, Queens College , Hunter and University of Maryland.
Speech pathology programs are highly competitive, usually requiring high GPAs and test scores. Congrats for getting in! The ASHA website data shows that most of these programs take about 25 students and get about 200 applications. Northeast acceptances are very difficult. Many have to leave the area. While NYU has an excellent program, all of the schools mentioned above also have excellent programs. Attending one over another will not give you an advantage in the job market. All of the NYC programs will give you excellent internships experiences in the city. You should inquire about CFY placements.
