Spending 1 hour a day: what should I do?

I've decided to spend an hour every day until I take the SAT to prep. Math is no problem for me (guaranteed 800). Reading and Writing not so much. I have the barron's SAT books and the blue book and I want to get the most out of my time. What should I be doing? These books are so intimidating and when I open them I've got no clue what to start doing.

Take practice tests then, reviews the wrong and right answers and use the search function on the forums so you dont have to make posts like these!

Sorry, but I don't think 1 hour a day will benefit fit you in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

Why wouldn't one hour a day benefit in the long run?

It will benefit you, don't listen to him. I think Xiggi spent 1 hour a day or less and he score really well.

I am only studying 1 hour a day, sometimes even less and I see my scores increase every practice test.

i completely disagree. It will definitely benefit you.
I did that almost the exact same thing. and over the course of 2/2.5 months my score went up 400 points. Granted i put more work in on saturdays....like 2 hours.

my greatest advice though is to TIME your sections....only give yourself the alloted amount of time. It will help you with your pace and getting used to having to do things quickly

The Xiggi method advises you to not time yourself for the first few tests...Take those first few tests to get a feel for the SAT test and the patterns hidden within it.

I only studied an hour a day and improved 100 in CR, in just one week.

Also, it does pay to really take your time on the first few test. You really need to become accustomed to how the test is structured. There are patterns and you will subconciously pick up on the tricks they try to throw at you.

Today I spent an hour with my Barron's 2400 book. I finished the first chapter on fill-in-the-blank questions and spent some time memorizing the 4 letter word list. I fell pretty solid about doing these questions now.

Also doing an hour a day for about 8 months is sure to help.
