SPOP - is it worth it?

Is spending 200 or 75 worth it for spop or mini spop or whatever? I mean isn't it all just obvious stuff you can find out on your own?

First off, I hear the experience and introduction through SPOP is worth the money. All the current students there on this forum have recommended us go to SPOP. The academic advising is basically required. Finding out how to do things at UCI may be a difficult alone. I'd strongly recommend going to either of them (emphasis on SPOP regular). You'll find it informative and fun. Go to SPOP!

mini or regular

Mini is just informative boring stuff. Regular SPOP is expensive because you stay in dorms for 2 nights and eat in the commons (I think). In regular SPOP, you will meet new people and participate in activities. You'll get introduced to UCI and have some fun. I recommend regular.

SPOP isn't required in UCI?

You guys are lucky! It seems to be mandatory in other schools like UCLA and UCSD :{

It's well worth it Oyama =). You know it.

Do NOT do the mini one. You almost HAVE to do the three day one. It's totally worth the experience.

So, is it a disadvantage to attend MINI-SPOP rather than regular SPOP then?

Go to SPOP regular!

in terms of fun, making friends, and partying it up, it is. Mini SPOPs boring.

Go to real SPOP.

aww boo...too late lol I registered for mini spop a week or two ago >_> oh well

I fail at life. I'm just going to the social sciences advising. I'm too cheap and lazy to attend SPOP. LOL

Anyways, it's just SPOP. You guys must realize there's an entire year ahead at UCI. It's not like you'll miss your chance to meet people. Plus, it's not that much of a worthwhile experience. Heck, just go. Have fun. Meet with the academic advisor. Mini or just SPOP, get ready to kick it for reals starting September 22...::Jaywin::

Mini-SPOP is basically just the boring parts of SPOP. Go to regular SPOP.

Heylookitsme, I understand we have four years at UCI ahead of us, but I've been excited to go to college for the last two years. I'm sure many others want to go asap too. Some fun on campus before work comes would be a great way to relieve the anxiety in the many students coming to UCI =).

Jason, have you ever been to spop? -_-' you make it sound like it's the best experience ever. Just as a counter example, I did not like spop. The other 95% liked it did though. I guess it's worth 200 bucks unless you're a weird kid like me =)

SPOP 1 is closed, and for Social Sciences student, no
only Mini SPOP D, E, and F are open, All other
programs are full.

i liked spop.

i am not going...cuz i will be on vacation during all the SPOPS
