My first post on this website
Alright, ill get right into it, I was an obese little munchkin in the 9th grade, fat and antisocial as heck. The though of sports never even crossed my mind.
Through my sophmore year I got into better shape and started making more friends; I participated in spring track and field. (Started to shed a lot of fat off and gain some serious muscles)
Now in my junior year I am planning to do cross country, indoor track and field, and spring track again, since my health and body has allowed me too. (Damn Daniel, talk about some serious fitness)
HERES THE QUESTION LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
If everything goes as planned, by the time college admissions come around My athletic stats would be
2 years Varsity Cross country (11,12)
2 years Varsity Indoor track (11,12)
3 Years Varsity Spring track (10,12)
Will colleges look down upon me and think I am just padding my application since I didnt start them in my freshman year? (I have a big passion for fitness now, genuinely interested)
Ultimate question, will these sports Help or Hurt my application?
Bonus Question, should I mention in my essay or application about my obesity (worse moments were early 9th grade ~180 lbs) and convey my determination and perseverance? Will this help explain me not playing a ton of sports my freshman and sophomore year?
