<p>You can go the route of sports psychology/psychiatry to help athletes with their mental game.</p>
<p>Requires far more than connections. For big time pro sports teams you need to be recognised as the top Doc in the area, often associated with a top teaching hospital.</p>
<p>Yeah thats not a job you’re going to get right out of fellowship - work on getting into med school at this point - first things first…</p>

<p>One of my neighbors has been a team doctor for the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins. I’m pretty sure this started during fellowship. I think it had more to do with the people he was working with and the group (different people in the group would work different games).</p>
