Can anyone lead me to colleges, particularly on the East coast from Virginia up that offer programs for occupations in the field of sports management and sports agents. After realizing I'll never be a professional athlete, I've decided to look more at the behind-the-scenes stuff in sports. I assume a business major would be ideal, but I'm not sure. I'm into the general manager aspects of a team rather than the marketing part and maybe even being an agent. I'm good with numbers if that helps.

Overall Top programs (close to your location restrictions):

UMass
Ohio University
Bowling Green State University (Ohio)
Indiana University

Also somewhat along east coast/north of VA, slightly lower ranking:
Ithaca College (New York)
West Virginia University
NYU
Temple

There are many good sports management schools out there, these are just the top ones that fit your boundaries.

It's not Virginia and up, but Drew Rosenhaus went to the U.

He's probably the most famous agent in the history of sports.

I work in the Northeast. The best sport management program in the country is at UMass Amherst, but admission is very competitive. Amherst is also a great college town.

I believe many sports agents have a law degree in sports law. So you might onsider that route.

York college of pa has a sports management major. It's an okay school, but you better be a conservative Republican if you want to feel like you belong there.

Yea to be an agent it really helps to have a law degree. Most do.
