I am a sophomore in high school and I am dead set on going to college for sports management. I have a 4.1 GPA and am currently a varsity manager for 3 sports at my school (girls/boys volleyball and boys basketball, might drop girls vb for football) and I plan on going straight to a 4 year. What schools have good masters programs for Sports Management? My absolute favorite sport is basketball and I do plan on using my degree to work in some type of front office-basketball job once I graduate from college. Also, what schools have the best internship connections for sports management?
Typically the ones with BIG DIV 1 teams have the best internship connections.
What are your parents saying about how much they’ll spend per year on college? That answer will largely determine where you should apply.
Also, until you have ACT/SAT scores, it’s harder to make recommendations

Look at Syracuse and U. MAss.
UMass Amherst was amazing for my husband who has worked in the front office of professional sports for 30 years. One of his classmates is the head of USA Basketball, one has been a baseball GM for years and many are ADs and big time agents. The grad classes are very small - I think his had 25 students. The most important thing is the alumni network and the ability to get internships so that you can make contacts.
Sports management at UMass Amherst is a great program. It is within the Isenberg school of management. This is a tough admission especially oos. In state you have to be very strong too. As a sophomore you can control your destiny with some hard work and perseverance. Good luck. And it’s ok to have some fun too!
If you’re interested in a co-op school, where internships would be built in, Drexel’s program could be worth a look https://www.lebow.drexel.edu/faculty-and-research/disciplines/sport-management
Depending on your stats and finances, Cornell’s Industrial and Labor Relations school (ILR) is amazing. The commissioners of MLB and NHL are alums. Look at their website. Just a fabulous program.
Good point. Roger Goodell of NFL fame went to a wonderful small college named Washington and Jefferson. So anywhere can lead to sports management. Usually with a pit stop to a good law school along the way.
My mom has decent savings for me and she is a single parent living on social security, so I should get fair financial aid wherever I go
