<p>There are not many schools offering sports managemnet or Kisenology(sp?). I hear the University of Texas , Austin is one of the best for that.
Besides this , Rice ,University of Pennsylvania , University of Michigan , University of Illinois are some of the well ranked colleges for this course.</p>

<p>I am going to assume that you are looking for Sports Management Business degree, not a Kinesiology degree. If you want to become a personal trainer, then Kinesiology would be your major.</p>

Bowling Green
USC (South Carolina)
University of Oregon (Sports Marketing)
Ohio University (I believe it was the first school to offer the degree- excellent program, underrated college)
Rice- really, really excellent program
University of Kentucky</p>
<p>The one at Michigan is through the Kinesiology department. The one offered at U. of Illinois Urbana Champaign is more of a Parks and Recreation degree.</p>

<p>Dont sleep on Temple U. highly underrated school and SM program. I know they got a prof. from UT a couple years ago. Not to mention the excellent internship poss. (Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, Phillies, Phantoms, etc.)</p>

<p>UPenn does not offer a Sport management degree program. Illinois' program is horrendous and only has a few courses in Sport Management, the majority in "leisure studies". Kentucky's program is not that good. </p>
<p>I'd also add U of Miami to the list Worried Student made, and second the notions of Temple and Texas.</p>
<p>Honestly, I don't really see the value of most programs that are just "sports management." These type of hyperspecialized programs are often of little value. If you want to be great in any business, you want to have a strong grasp of business fundamentals coupled with SOME specialized training...but a whole degree?</p>
<p>Sports Management programs offer a business based curriculum, but specifically apply the principles to the sport industry, rather than learn generic principles. It's specified learning, and employers do indeed give an advantage to people who have a sport degree as compared to a business degree. Many internships require a SM curriculum and won't take business students because of a learning curve on the job. Also, SM companies also have much stronger relationships with the sport job industry as compared to a business school, which specializes in relationships to banks, firms, etc.</p>

<p>My sport management class had a speaker from the Colts in it, and I spoke to him after the class and got his business card.</p>
