Sports Management

Hey guys,

I have three options - Double major in accounting and SM, Double major in accounting and journalism and go to graduate school for SM, or major in accounting and go to graduate school for SM. With that said, I have multiple questions that I could really use some help on.

1) Does it make more sense to take SM as an undergraduate student or a graduate student?
2) How does job placing work? Is it realistic to get your first job only where you went to school or is it more flexible?
3) How do these SM programs "rank"?:

Maryland (grad)
Tennessee (undergrad and grad)
Miami (undergrad and grad)
Michigan (undergrad and grad)
Illinois (undergrad and grad)
Ohio State (grad)
Indiana (undergrad and grad)
South Carolina (undergrad and grad)

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know much in reference to sports management in particular, but I would save the specific stuff for grad school. I would personally choose option 2.

I know what one majors in during undergrad doesn’t necessarily have any bearings on what he or she does in the future, but having a wider base would give you more options just in case things don’t go as you plan.

thanks for the response. I like option two as well but I have no idea where to look to get the best graduate SM degree. Hopefully someone else can help me out here.
