Sports Management

Hey guys,

I have three options - Double major in accounting and SM, Double major in accounting and journalism and go to graduate school for SM, or major in accounting and go to graduate school for SM. With that said, I have multiple questions that I could really use some help on.

1) Does it make more sense to take SM as an undergraduate student or a graduate student?
2) How does job placing work? Is it realistic to get your first job only where you went to school or is it more flexible?
3) How do these SM programs "rank"?:

Maryland (grad)
Tennessee (undergrad and grad)
Miami (undergrad and grad)
Michigan (undergrad and grad)
Illinois (undergrad and grad)
Ohio State (grad)
Indiana (undergrad and grad)
South Carolina (undergrad and grad)

Thanks in advance!

Fuggeda bout it----A Sports Management major for boys, like communications for girls is a waste.
The reputation of the school will carry you further then a trendy degree.
Go to the best school you can get into. Study a subject you really like.
If you want to pursue sports, do so via a b.s. business/marketing degree or an mba
And talk to the college career office early and often!

Don’t do sports management or sports statistics or anything like that. Andrew Friedman, one of the best young GMs, did a business/management degree, and famous statistician Nate Silver did economics.

But its not a replacement to going to a great school and getting a great business degree. Its along with it. How could you tell me it would hurt to either double major in SM or go to a SM grad school?

bump (10 char)

Aim for a top law school, not a SM grad school. Major in anything you like undergrad but do sports internships.
