Hi! are there any sports medicine majors out there? I know Pepperdine isn't such a prestigious school in the sciences, but I was wondering what it was like? class size, professors, difficulty level, ect.?

I’m not personally a Sports Med major, but it is very popular among those who are premed, including several of my friends. Though I can’t really go in depth, I do know that the class sizes are CONSIDERABLY smaller than any premed major at a state school, such as UCLA. Many of the faculty are Ivy league educated. I would call Sports Med one of the hardest majors at Pepperdine – it has a lot of class requirements and labs – but that clearly doesn’t turn people off of it.

Where did you hear Pepperdine isn’t prestigious in the sciences?

I mean maybe sciences that are engineering or physics centered, but I think their biological/chemical sciences are pretty well ranked.

Hello all,

I’m still deciding what major I should take at Pepperdine-either sports medicine or biology. What major would be a better fit if I plan on attending medical school after? Thanks

Beeguy123 - You have to take the same core classes for pre-med. Why don’t you start taking classes and decide after seeing how that goes? There’s no reason to hurry. Both are excellent pre-med majors, it just depends on your specific interests and strengths. Your advisers will be able to help you more when you are on campus.

Thanks for the advice gwu_girl
