Sports schools in the west?

Hey everyone!

Im new to this site, but Ive just started my college search and I though you’all could help me.

I’m really looking for a school with a big time sports program. When a fall football Saturday comes along, I want the town to rise and come alive in their school’s colors.

I really want to stay on the west coast… I live in Arizona. My dream school is USC, and Washington is also on my list.

So I really want a big time sports school, but also with a solid academic reputation.

I don’t know, I guess I just have a certain vision for the school that I want to go to . I like traditional campuses, and where everyone in the town loves the school and the sports teams.

I’m a huge sports guy.. if you cant tell…… and I need a school where others share my passion.

So I guess Im just asking for some suggestions…

Im a pretty smart student… 3.98 weighted GPA … 1910 Sat ( 1290) 28 act

Right now my list is USC and Washington

Im open to schools in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado… and other western schools…. ( out of Arizona) (((( No Ucla or UCB)))))

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Notre Dame isn't exactly West coast, but it's technically in the west of the country.

Notre Dame would be quite a reach for the OP

how bout Cu-boulder or the University of Oregon

I do think you have a realistic chance at USC though. Good Luck!

Yes, ND is a reach, and way different weather than the west coast, generally speaking! Since UCLA and UCB are out, USC would be a strong fit, if you can get in (you seem qualified, but there isn't too much info, so it's kinda hard to tell). I think UW is an excellent option, as is UO (probably a safety for you :) ). Texas-Austin also comes to mind, huge football scene with solid academics. I might think of some more later...
