Sports?

Alright, this may sound stupid... but is having to do sports highly advantageous in getting accepted to an Ivy League? Because my chances are looking pretty good with my test scores, my grades and my school rank, but when it comes to my EC's, I didn't do so great. (I'm a high school junior)

I mean, I did a lot of non-sport related extra curriculars and a reasonable amount of community service, but is sports a hugely important basis of getting accepted into an Ivy League? Or are there exceptions? I mean, the Ivies consider sports a huge thing obviously, and it seems like a lot of people who consider these schools do sports as well as other EC's.

The most important thing is standing out. Sports won't help you if you end up looking like everyone else.
