Does add/drop begin later for freshmen? The Cornell website says that it begins on Jan. 18th, but my student center lists Jan. 23rd as my open enrollment date.

Add drop is always divided by graduating class.

mine says January 23rd as well but I’m a sophomore.
for some reason I had in my head a lot earlier date (I got it from a website a few weeks ago but I can’t replicate that result…)
either way I gotta adjust some stuff before the semester starts.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I need to adjust some stuff too. Hope it works out :/

Seniors can begin registering 7am on Tuesday, January 19.

Juniors can begin registering at 7am on Wednesday, January 20.

Sophomores can begin registering at 7am on Thursday January 21.

Freshmen can begin registering at 7am on Friday January 22.*

mine says jan 23 on jtf also, but i’m assuming that jan 23 is when EVERYONE can add/drop. i’m not sure.

*disclaimer: i got this info from an email regarding adding a specific class sent by the program coordinator of my major. the email only referred to seniors, juniors and sophomores - the freshman one is based on extrapolation and how add/drop worked during fall semester.

Hmm. These are the dates I have in my student center:

FWS Session January 22, 2010
Seven Week - First January 23, 2010
Regular Academic Session January 23, 2010
Seven Week - Second January 23, 2010

I assumed that only FWS’s could be added/dropped on 1/22, but maybe I’ll be able to switch regular classes?

EDIT

Finally found this link: http://registrar.sas.cornell.edu/Student/spring2010reg.html

So looks like add/drop for freshmen does begin on 1/22.

oh good, i thought it was the 18th.

need to add a gym class…someone in riflery wanna drop it so i can get in? haha

thanks for that link; it clarifies everything. they really should make the student center info accurate!

while I’m here: does anyone know of any classes that are in the morning or early afternoon that have lots of space open? I am in a bind trying to get a last class in my schedule. and I’m interested in basically everything, and I’m taking all the required courses I should be, but I have timing issues and really just need some credits.

If you go on Student Center and go to Class Search, then click on Advanced Search, you can put in certain days and times that you have open and it will search for classes just in that time frame.
