AP Stats - A
Hn. Precalculus - A

Oh man, how does the American grading system even work? How is it possible to get over 100%? At my school, having an average over 95% is almost unheard of. Is Canadian marks really deflated or something?
Anywho, these are the grades I have minus some exams/summatives for the year:

English - 92%
Geography - 94%
Comp Sci - 95%
History - 95%
Civics - 98%
Japanese - 97%
Tech -95%
Science - 85% (meh)
Math - 78% (lol severe anxiety is tons of fun during tests)
Overall - 92.1% (A+)

I have no idea what this is in terms of GPA…but I have A’s in everything besides that one math, which is a B+ in the Ontario scale. Should be an A- after the exam.

I don’t know my GPA, personally I really care for them lol.

Sophomore

Honors English 10 - A (94%) / A (93%)
Honors Chemistry - A (94%) / B (86%)
Honors Algebra II - B (87%) / B (81)%
Pre-Veterinary Small Animal A (99%) / A (96%)

My grades on CC are probably considered community college standards… lol

Algebra II - A (~94%)
French II - A (~97%)
Computer Keyboarding - A (100%)
Honors English - A (~95%)
Honors World History - A (~98%)
Biology - A (~101%)

2nd Semester

Algebra II - A (94.5%)
French II - A (102%)
Lifetime Personal Fitness - A (~97%)
Honors English - A (97.5%)
Honors World History - A (99%)
Biology - A (98%)

Oh my god…the grade inflation at these schools is crazy!!

And verityfate, Canadian marks are typically lower than their equivalent American marks, yeah. The American system also lacks standardization, hence the need for tests such as the SAT to get an idea of where a student is at when compared nationwide.

But still, what is this school where you can have an 87 and “ask for extra credit” to get a 90? What the actual eff is going on?

I don’t think a single person at my school has ever gotten above a 95 in an AP. And dafaq is up with all this extra credit? What kind of high school gives out extra credit?

Damn. I don’t know whether to be jealous of the relative ease of all your schools or grateful for the work ethic mine has taught me.

I kind of slacked at the end of the year in all of my classes (except for English)

Analytical Geometry - 92.1
AP World - 92.7
Debate - 94.7
Honors Bio - 93.4
Honors Chem - 95.8
Honors Eng - 90.9
PE - It should be a 90.3, as my teacher made an error while putting grades into the system and refuses to correct his error (4/44 instead of 4/4) after I talked to him a couple of times. However, My online grading system reports 89.4, and he claims it’s an 88.4 (he inputted some stuff and hasn’t updated it.)

What my GPA should be: 4.0 UW. (Welcome to the Hawaii school system, where + and -and honors wighting don’t exist!)

These 98%+ grades embarrass me. I can’t believe this country’s schooling system actually has schools like this. Well, I can believe it but I don’t want to. Like seriously going through these:

“I have a 90, but I’m behind on work so when I turn it in it’ll be 100” Are we in third grade? Do your homework when it’s due. High schools giving late credit dafaq?

100%+ in AP classes, especially English. Your teachers are really giving you 100% on every essay? You get 100 on all the vocab tests and reading quizes? I mean, what do you even DO in these classes?

The availability of extra credit astounds me. I honestly thought that was a thing for elementary/middle school kids.

This is ridiculous. We really need to overhaul our schooling system.

That’s how I got my ridiculous grades in French, World History, and Biology. It was a joke.

French - Attend a competition on a Saturday, bam, 20 points. Write an extra credit essay, bam, 20 more points.

World History - Attend a competition on a Saturday, bam, 20 points.

Biology - Bring in a box of tissues on the first week of school, bam, 8 points. The class was ridiculously easy too, so that extra credit lasted all semester long.
