My son is seriously considering Willamette. We will be heading to Salem from California for an overnight and the Spring Preview for admitted students in April. Is anyone else going? Any suggestions for what we should see/do while we are there?

There may be some flowers in bloom. That part of Oregon has Irises and tulips among other wonderful gardens that you can tour. Not the highest interest to a college student of course. There is also a nice art museum adjacent to the campus. Portland is only 45 minutes north if you have extra time. Hope you enjoy your visit.

When we went 4 years ago there was an option to take a walking tour of the town (led by Willamette admissions) that my daughter and I enjoyed. She had already toured campus on a previous visit so we picked the town tour option instead. It was a beautiful spring day and we went to the park by the river and to several stores, coffee shops, etc near the campus. I don’t know if they still have that option

Great French toast at The Sassy Onion, just one block east of the campus!

Son will be going by himself. Hope it’s a good time for all!

Take your allergy medicines with you. Oregon trees area already blooming.
