What is the min. required credits and max. credits one should take during the spring term? ...3 academic courses? 2 academic courses..? Do students all live off campus since the residential halls are closed during the spring term?

In the spring and summer half-terms you should take no more than half what you would take in a regular term. Two classes would be more than enough. Some people just take one class so there is time to do other things in the summer than school. You should have no trouble finding a cheap summer sublet off campus.

9 credits max
6 credits full time
5 or less —part time

mojo is open in the summer along with east quad, but sublets are really cheap in the summer so try to get those

Was going to put this in a separate post but maybe you can help me. Is there financial aid available for the spring/summer term?

Yes, there is financial aid available for spring/summer.

I wouldn’t take more than two classes. You could probably swing three if you have to, but it depends on what the courses are.

spring/summer classes are ridiculously easy even though it’s 2x as fast.
I was taking 9 credits and working nearly full time. A friend got an A+ in ME240 which is pretty much impossible during fall/winter.

do you guys know if physics 140 and engin 101 are offered in the spring/summer term?

140 yeah, but not 101.

the following courses will be offered by the CoE next Spring term (May 2 – June 24, 2011):

• ChemE 342
• EECS 270
• EECS 280
• EECS 314
• ME 235
• ME 320
• ME 335
• ME 481
• MSE 220

Thankyou so much!

Does anyone by any chance know what social science and natural science will be offered in the spring term? …and what English 124/125 classes…?

Has anyone taken any courses at home (at any institute that offers summer courses…?) and done credit transfer…? How many credits can you transfer?

Every spring and summer the classes offered are mostly the same. There are some which will show up every spring/summer, and in large departments a few others randomly. Those engineering classes are new though.

You can find past terms here: [Schedule of Classes - Office of the Registrar](Schedule of Classes | Office of the Registrar) Expect future terms to be very similar (with exception to engineering classes).

Collegebound_guy, CPS 171 will be offered at WCC during the summer, and that transfers to Michigan as Engr 101. It also only costs $348 to take, where as it would take thousands at Michigan. The bus to WCC runs right next to North Campus, so it’s very convenient to get there even if you don’t have a car.

^thanks for the heads up. but I live 40 min from u of m and will probably be at home during the summer…and the closest community college that fits would be OCC, which happens to be 30 min away…

I really wish I could do like schoolcraft but you have to take 3 separate classes for engr101. ***
