<p>I played a long time ago at Boston College - I had a Donnay that I liked. I don’t remember the model - maybe it was an Allwood. A friend borrowed it and broke it.</p>
<p>It’s pretty easy to break squash racquets as a beginner as you have to take a pretty hard swing at the ball very close to a wall sometimes and sometimes you’ll miss and hit the wall unless you are very careful. Modern racquets are made of new materials I think.</p>
<p>Back then I didn’t think that the racquet mattered that much, as long as it was decent quality. In tennis equipment makes a very big difference. For squash, maybe not so much. If you’re playing at your school, you might check to see if they loan or rent racquets.</p>
